Real Life Screen Damage Stories

When we get a call from customers inquiring about replacement screens or we go into a home to replace damaged screens, we like to ask what happened to cause the damage.

Here are a few stories taken from our files -

- various types of damage to a screen(s) from teenagers shooting a pellet gun/air soft gun/BB gun in the house.

- damage from a remote control, game controller or Wii being thrown at the TV.

- baseball, softball and other types of balls being thrown at the TV.

- someone "falling" into the TV. This includes kids playing karate, wrestling, tripping over a toy or other item on the floor, and sadly, domestic violence.

- a very angry boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse who threw an object at the TV intentionally.

- cats and dogs who saw another animal on the TV and attacked the TV.

- garage doors being closed on the TV which was in the back of a truck.

- candle wax that has dripped down on the screen.

- screens being sucked out of the TV while being transported in the back of a truck.

- a 6 year old who smashed his food into the screen and then proceeded to pick at the lenticular screen which caused it to tear.

- twins who decided the lenticular screen would look prettier with nail polish on it.

- toddlers who have wonderfully sticky hands and go up to place their sweet handprints on the lenticular screen leaving behind a gooey mess.

- children who are just drawn to the TV and then begin to hit and slap and just beat on the screens. 

- a super bowl/birthday/wedding/baby and bridal shower/ and other types of parties and guests somehow spill their drinks and the liquid splashes on the TV screen.

- maid/cleaning service are vacuuming and the pulling back motion of the handle of the vacuum makes it go into the TV.

- patrons of a restaurant/bar and grill sneak various types of weapons in and damages the TV with it.

- businesses that have TVs with manufacturer screen protectors want them taken off and replaced with a Non-Glare screen protector so viewing is easier on the patrons eyes.

- And also so the TV can be rolled out onto the patio for the viewing of special events on the big screen TVs.

- clients who have a manufacturer screen protector on their TV in a room with windows and the glare and reflections is just too much. We replace those with a Non- Glare TV Screen Protector

This Mitsubishi lenticular screen was torn by young children. There was no screen protector. Fortunately the fresnel screen was not damaged.
